albertine – A New Addition From the Kindreds
The Kindred family has taken the Charlotte Metro area by storm these past few years. Kindred was ranked as one of the best new restaurants shortly after opening, milkbread has three locations around Charlotte and is growing, the waterfront eclectic Hello Sailor continues to delight, especially during the summer months, and now, we introduce albertine to the club.
albertine is mainly driven by Katy Kindred and brings something truly unique to Charlotte. “So we wanted to create something unique that was unlike anything that we’ve visited in any other city, let alone Charlotte. I wanted something that had a decidedly feminine lean to it, as a woman designer, business owner, and proprietor, but also, you know, it’s Charlotte, it’s the Queen City. So we named it after Queen Charlotte’s mother, Albertine.”
Brooke and I enjoyed dining there recently, and it does not disappoint. If you know us, the heavy Mediterranean-influenced menu definitely made Brooke a happy camper. We couldn’t get enough of the meze (especially the turmeric pickled cauliflower), and the pasta was outstanding! The flavors just hit you and keep you coming back for more. Service was impeccable, as you would expect from one of their restaurants. We can’t wait to go back to try more of the menu!
